In the ring design, the grass motif is a background to the dogwood which is one of the area's first spring flowers. Dogwood symbolize Christ's crucifixion and atonement. Both the grass and dogwood motifs are powerful reminders of Solomon's ancient temple that was adorned with flower design elements. Today, that tradition is continued in temples all over the world and symbolize reproductive qualities and God's creations, both reminders of the endowment narrative.
